We don't collect your data.
Petasai connects your iPhone to a Hermes Agent server that you run. Your data travels between the two, and never to us.
Effective 1 November 2026. This policy covers the Petasai iPhone app and this website. Petasai is published by Uttermadness, a trading name of ScaleCloud Ltd ("we", "us").
The short version
- We don't collect, store, sell or share any personal data from the app.
- There are no accounts, analytics, advertising, tracking or third-party SDKs in Petasai.
- Your messages, files and tasks go directly between your iPhone and your own server.
How Petasai works
Petasai is a client for Hermes Agent, open-source software by Nous Research that you install and run yourself. When you connect, you enter your server's address, its API key and, optionally, a dashboard username and password. From then on, the app talks only to the addresses you entered.
Everything you send to your bots, and everything they send back, passes between your iPhone and your server. We operate no servers in that path and can't see any of it. What your Hermes server does with your data is up to you and the services you've set it up to use. For example, Hermes sends prompts to the AI model providers you choose, under those providers' terms and privacy policies.
What stays on your iPhone
- Sign-in details. Your API key and dashboard password are kept in the iOS Keychain, on that iPhone only. They aren't synced through iCloud Keychain or restored onto another phone.
- Settings and app state. Your server address, appearance and sound preferences, which threads you've read, the bots' looks, and the tasks the app is following.
- Downloaded files. Files you open from your bots are kept in the app's cache so they open quickly.
- Bot voices. The bots' sounds are generated on your iPhone and kept there.
Settings › Sign Out of Hermes deletes your sign-in details, downloaded files, unread markers, notifications and the app's background checks. Deleting the app removes its data, and a fresh install always starts signed out.
Permissions
- Local network: to reach your Hermes server on your home network.
- Microphone and speech recognition: only if you use dictation. Petasai uses Apple's speech recognition, entirely on your iPhone where the device and language support it. Otherwise Apple may process the audio under Apple's privacy policy. Petasai doesn't keep recordings.
- Notifications: to tell you when a bot finishes, has a question or gets stuck. These are created on your iPhone; no push service is involved.
- Photos you attach are sent only to your server, with your message.
This website
This site has no cookies, analytics or tracking, and loads nothing from third parties. It's hosted by Cloudflare, which processes technical data such as IP addresses to deliver and protect it, under Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Children
Petasai isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect any data from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and its effective date.
